Pet Care Plan

We’ve made looking after your pet more affordable…

We have re-introduced some routine pet care services

During June we have started to re-introduce some of our normal services.

We are now doing some consultations in practice, as well as by telephone and video where appropriate. We have a number of measures in place to help protect our customers and staff including: protective screens at reception, hand sanitising stations at entry and exit points, restricted use of the waiting room, PPE for our staff and a regular cleaning protocol after each client.

Please bear with us as due to social distancing things are taking a little bit longer than usual, however our range of services now include:

  • Vaccinations
  • Operations i.e. neutering, lump removals etc.
  • Dental procedures
  • Limited nurse clinics including nail clips and anal glands
  • Blood tests, x-rays and ultrasound
  • Pre-ordered medication and food supplies (you can now order online using our click & collect service)

Some of our services are limited to certain days, time slots and locations so you may need to book a little further ahead or travel to one of our other practices for some routine treatments.

What to expect when visiting us

When entering our premises we kindly ask that there is a maximum of one person to accompany each pet and that hand hygiene is performed on entry and exit using the facilities provided. Please respect the social distancing measures we have put in place and whilst we would normally ask you to stay in the waiting room whist the vet examines your pet, we do recommend you bring a face covering in case you need to accompany your pet in the consultation room at our discression.

Our receptionist team will be there to greet you as always and we ask that if possible payment is made by card or using our new online payment portal.

Advice on what to do during the Corona Crisis

As a vital frontline service, our veterinary practice remains OPEN during COVID–19 with some changes to how you access our services. We are not open for walk-ins, but we are here for essential and emergency care and are still providing pre-ordered medications, food and parasite treatments.

Coronavirus Update

Following yesterday’s statement from the government about staying indoors we have had to tighten down on the services we provide to emergencies and medications where there is an urgent need.

We have had to move away from all routine work on companion animals. The reasons are twofold. One we are having to rota a significantly reduced number of staff to emergency work in a very busy spring season and concentrate efforts in supporting a healthy food chain. Secondly we feel it is morally the better thing to ensure we adhere to social distancing for our staff and our clients.

For a lot of the diseases we vaccinate against in pets there is a window of flexibility that would allow us to postpone or delay boosters out towards 15 months. I hope in 3 months time we can be working to more normal patterns.

If you can postpone routine preventative flea and worm treatment consider doing that in the next three weeks. In animals under six months of age there is an additional need and we can provide for this. If you see evidence of fleas or worms we can also prescribe to treat. Please phone the surgery to request the treatment your pet requires.

As we are working on reduced staff, our phones are exceptionally busy so we’ve now set up an online order form for you to request your animals food and medication. Payment will be taken over the phone and you can collect from the surgery subject to the rules of social distancing. Alternatively if you are self isolating and cannot make alternative arrangements we can post this out with a fee to cover postage and packaging.

Please note that our branches are now open 9am-5pm Monday to Friday. Depending on staffing levels we will review our Saturday opening later in the week.

You may still be receiving text and email reminders about flea and worm treatments and vaccinations. Obviously we are postponing these check for the foreseeable future. We are working to amend these reminders. So accept our apologies if you feel are being bombarded by these, they are being altered as we post this.
