Rachael Oven - Large Animal Veterinary Surgeon
Rachael Oven BVSc MRCVS Large Animal Veterinary Surgeon

After spending lots of time with us as a student vet on placement, Rachael joined our team as a qualified vet in August 2019 after graduating from Bristol University with distinction. Within her role, she enjoys going to her routine farms on fertility visits but also love the emergency work too and says you can't beat the feeling of getting a live calf out. She also has an interest in equine work.  She is a qualified BCVA Johnes and BVD advisor and does visits for the TB advisory service. She is also a ROMS accredited mobility scorer.

More recently, she is starting to study towards a certificate in advanced veterinary practice. She has 2 horses of her own, Angus who is retired and Kracker a baby Suffolk Punch. She also has an epileptic cat called Piccalilli. She spends her spare time with her horses, walking with her family and husband, and baking. She is also hoping to start taking Kracker to some shows soon.
