Emma Cartledge

In January 2021, McMurtry and Harding decided to create a team of Vet Tech’s, who’s main job role would be to support the Large Animal vets in all areas of the job from TB testing, an extra pair of hands in surgery, to laboratory work and running samples.

Emma was born and bred in Ashbourne having grown up on a local Beef and Sheep farm. Before starting at McMurtry and Harding she was a teacher for 4 years, but she has now returned to her roots and is back working with farm animals.

Her favourite aspect of the role is helping the vets with operations such as caesareans. Lambing is her favourite time of year, and she also likes helping with horses, goats, and llama procedures. She has a border collie called Crumpet and a cat called Pudge.
